VERY VERSITLE- OZ Polish is really polishing magic. Polish and protect any smooth finish surface…furniture, tile, marble, cabinets, fixtures, chrome, etc. You name it – it does it.
Top Positive Review
I don??t write a lot of reviews, but this is a really great product. I wish I would have used it earlier. You can see from my photos what a difference it made. Although the wood at the bottom is still pretty rough from the sun damage. That??s why I wish I would have used it earlier. Very easy to apply as well. I just washed my door with some mild soapy water and then rubbed this on.
Top Critical Review
We started using OZ about 5 years ago when we purchased table at a fine furniture store. The sales people raved about it and literally said don’t use anything else. And for the first few years, it did a nice job of polishing our wood furniture and leaving a beautiful shine. However, over time we started to notice spots and stains in the finish that just wouldn’t come off. Turns out that OZ does not clean at all and just polishes. So with every use, we were trapping dirt and dust into the finish by applying more OZ. We had to spend several hours rubbing vigorously with mineral spirits on each piece of furniture we had ever treated with OZ to try and get it off. I would never use this again and do not recommend you do either.
Customer Questions & Answers
how long does it take for Oz to dry?
Answer: Temperature and humidity matter here. Generally, I like to give it 5-10 minutes to be dry to the touch and 1-2 hours to really penetrate and dry before I allow traffic, use, etc. You can push it to less, so these are rules of thumb.
can you use this in a spray bottle
Answer: That??s a good question. I??ve never done it but maybe if you mix it with some water, it could be used in a spray bottle.
does oz furniture polish cause buildup
Answer: Oz furniture polish has NOT caused buildup in the 30 or 40 years that I have used it. I polish all my good furniture once or twice a year with OZ.
Is this safe for teak and rosewood?
I am no expert when it come to wood finishing or preservation but what I know about this product is that I have used it on some of my most collectable vintage guitars with excellent results…the woods on these guitars include mahogany, maple, rosewood and ebony…I have never seen any unexpected results from this produ??
Does this polish contain silicon?
Answer: From the label, the ingredients are, water, parafinic oil, aliphatic petroleum distillates, castor oil & surfactant. It doesn’t mention silicon.
However, I have used this product for over 20+ years on my furniture and gorgeous wood cabinets and I am delighted with this product.
