I have been using the Nexxus Comb Thru Finishing Spray Hair Spray for a few years. I have thin, fine, straight fly-away hair that does not stay in place. Curling my hair results in limp waves before I am even finished curling it. I always have to use some type of hair spray even when I leave my hair straight just to keep it from flying all around. I started using the Nexxus Comb Thru Finishing Spray when a friend recommended it. I LOVE IT!!!!! The finishing spray is light-weight, is NOT sticky, it DOES NOT even look like I have it sprayed on. There is NO obnoxious smell to it like other hair sprays have. It has a very light scent that goes away right after spraying it on. The best parts are that it gives me a natural hold because you can’t see it on my hair, no sticky residue. My hair moves, but doesn’t fly around as much. My curls or waves last longer and at the end of the day, I just brush or comb my hair and it is much easier to do. I start at the ends and work my way up so I don’t get any hair breakage (remember my thin hair will break if I comb just down). There is no sticky residue left, so when sleeping I don’t get any gunk on my pillow and don’t wake up with any hair matted on my head. Since it is so lightweight styling my hair the next day is easier because it adds a little volume to my thin hair, but my hair doesn’t stick to the curling iron which is great. It is safe for color treated hair and doesn’t change the color (I am a bottle blonde lol). I am very pleased with this finishing spray.

Advertised as Volume, NOT, no volume benefit I have thin hair, had hoped for the best. Can says #2 Medium hold; for non stiff, no helmet hair, maybe #1 would be better, still very stiff and helmet like; but #1 appears not available on Amazon, not sure if #1 available anywhere. Just FYI

Answer: No it doesn’t damage my hair. It holds but isn’t stiff. Only product I’ve used for several years. It doesn’t take much. My hair is gray and very thin and fine. I don’t use this daily.

I have a very old tube of headress leave in conditioner…guess it is no longer manufactured…what would be your closest product to that old one
